Located on the west of Lisbon, Cascais is a favorite holiday destination on the coastline of Portugal. Situated in the heart of Quinta da Marinha, the 5-star resort provides accommodation in the form of comfortable deluxe rooms and suites.

When entering the Sheraton Marriott Cascais Resort you are welcomed by the peaceful and beautiful building surrounded by plants and green trees. The entrance has a turning door but next to it they also had an automatic opening door especially for people in a wheelchair or in my case I had brought my scoot-mobile. It has a grand entrance and wide hallways with enough space for me to ride a scoot-mobile. The elevator is also spacious.

Recreational facilities at Sheraton Cascais include two outdoor swimming pools, a wellness spa, relaxation space, a modern fitness center, and a restaurant. The garden of the hotel has a wide and rollable path that goes up to the swimming pool area so it was easy to navigate between the trees on the property. It's thoughtful because most places don't make pathways to go over the grass areas.

At the pool area there is an S-shaped wooden path which crosses the middle of the swimming pool. What a great idea! It gave me the possibility to roll straight over the pool and I could sit in the middle and my friends could swim up to me. In this way you can still communicate and be close to those who are swimming in the pool.

Guests can spend an idle time here, sipping on cocktails from the poolside bar.

Behind the poolside bar there is a sloop going down to a wheelchair toilet and wheelchair accessible shower this was amazing because then I didn't have to go back to my bedroom to the be able to go to the toilet or shower. I could stay near the pool and go by myself because they had a sloop and signs pointing in the right directions.

For me this was one of the most accessible hotels I have ever visited. I was pleasantly surprised by the accessibility. Overall I loved my stay at Cascais. It is one of my favorite hotels so far, that I have ever been to because it was very easy for me to move around and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
